Just have to say, I've loved every moment from the very first note. It could not be better said when I saw this posted: Imagine the craft of Pink Floyd, the power of Snow Patrol, the beauty of Zero7,
To say mildly, Pure Perfection of Magic that melts the core. I Thank the entire Crew for saving shattered bits of ones soul. Glad I finally found this space, and Pandora Radio for showing the way. Cheers & Happy New Year.

Hey Guys, i bought the album Public Symphony after hearing "Stronger" as a sample track on a Currys Disk in one of our stores. I instantly loved the album but it found its way down my pile of music. Recently i have rediscovered this album and after sharing it with my father, i listen to it cover to cover, twice every day without fail.
I am now wondering, where can i see you guys live? Please Please message me back as i would love to see you at a gig.
Best Wishes

An update from Shanghai. 'Stronger' got me through the last month or so at my last job where I managed to successfully complete a 100sqkm island waterfront planning competition, then wind down and get ready for change. I changed jobs in June and still keep Inspire on my mp3 player for the daily commute. The new job is going well and the new work environment is also more inspiring. 'Fill your Sails' is sound advice to anyway thinking about change. Last but not least my wife is currently 3 months pregnant, though the journey has been a difficult one in the past, I hope this time we will make it.
Looking forward to new tunes. You should try to get the UK Trade & Investment to back you up/sponsor a gig at the 2010 World Expo UK Pavilion in Shanghai - they play 'chill-out' music around the pavilion like Zero 7/Morcheeba etc.. The building is a great concept and the space around it is designed for events like a Public Symphony gig. (google ukshanghaiexpo)
I'll be there if you do!

Hey Dobs!
I'm still listening! I have Inspire on constantly in the car. My kids especially like 'Rise and Shine' (well the 5&6 yr olds). My fave is still Fill Your Sails but Touch has me reminiscing on various bits of Dark Side of the Moon esp .with the Mrs doing her own Great Gig vocals
Thanks for such great music. Simon

Writing from Shanghai, 2009 was a grind, I totally burned out. 6 months ago I started to look for something new in my career. Inspire is a journey that starts much like my situation, “I am spent, I am down, I am lost, if I’m found, heal me” as I closed the door on my current job, new doors started to open, not just in my career but in other ways like in discovering inspire. This album has given me the Wings to fly.
As a landscape architect/masterplanner chasing work up and down China and the Middle East against the economic slowdown, stronger is a blinding anthem that captures “miles and miles I had to go” to get through some difficult years and emerge where I am now. Choosing to pause and breath, to stop and look at my life has made me realise I have shut out so many other interests by being solely focused on my career. I used to write songs in the 1990’s up to around 2004 and used to record my own tracks. I’ve not been able to do it for some time now. Inspire stirs the music that used to burn inside of me and I want to find that again. Changing career during an economic downturn is a scary prospect but since making the decision to change a huge weight has been lifted. Breakthrough is a great track to face the fear and make the change. I truly believe this song would make a great anthem for the UK Charity ‘Breakthrough’ to raise awareness of the fight against breast cancer.
The 4th track on Inspire called Touch is the music of Public Symphony reaching into the lives of people (like me) and capturing the moment of transition and life changes. It is beautifully reminiscent of Pink Floyd’s 'Great Gig in the Sky', but it does not feel trapped and painful, it reaches out with joy and freedom, with beautiful backing vocals that uplift and soar. Rise and Shine is a new day and how I feel about starting a new life/job which really starts in June. I hope to start spending more quality time with my wife and spending more time exploring Shanghai. White Dove is the future of a stronger love and the hope for a family in 2010. The guitar riff is beautifully stripped down, some will compare it with a ‘Coldplay’ style riff but for me the simple hook is about the determination to succeed and rise above all else. I hope with more time and focus on family ‘I Do’ will be a sweet reminder of the celebration of love and happiness. I’ve now 2 months left in my current position to wrap up some major projects and ensure succession of a business. The everyday choices are less stressful now that I’ve broken free. I feel that anything is possible because new possibilities are emerging as I begin a new voyage of discovery. I first heard Public Symphony on Chill FM and ‘Fill Your Sails’ was a song that reached out further than any other artist on this excellent UK radio station. When I first heard the track I thought it might be Seal, as in his debut album, he had a raw energy in his music and a fresh sound. The message here reassures me that there’s an adventure out there to widen my soul and that’s exactly the journey I have started. The final words of Inspire in Epilogue quietly say ‘this is our public symphony’ and reinforces the whole concept of this album. It is designed to be heard as a holistic journey. I truly believe this year will be a great year for Public Symphony, albums like Inspire don’t come along often and it really is a classic!

I heard 'Fill Your Sails' a few times on Chill FM on my Internet Radio and searched the web to find more. I was glad to find Inspire and decided to buy the album to encourage you to make more great music.
Listening to Inspire I just cracked out a Marina Masterplan for a tropical island location on Hainan Island, China.
I am a landscape architect in the process of changing my job and moving on to a bigger, better career. Inspire will help me move on with confidence. I will definately be sharing your web-site to as many like minded people. Keep up the great music!!

Dobs has new twin boys, that's 3 now, phew! Dobs has sensibly moved into a garden studio. Dobs and James are godfathers to each other's kids. James has record companies banging down his door to mix for them after his No.1's with Tiny Tempah, and hits with The Saturdays, Pixie Lott, The Noisettes etc.
We have written a new Public Symphony track, if only we could find time to produce and mix it...
You may be searching online to find out what is that song on the NBC promo for 'Losing It With Jillian' (or is it Gillian?)
And at the end of the Nicorette commercial, or the movie trailer for Run Fat Boy Run or Paris.
Breakthrough by Public Symphony has been used on all of these!
Song focus: STRONGER
Too late for this year's London Marathon, I have been editing this down to offer for TV montages at The World Cup, for those breathless high-altitude challenges!
First broadcast for the University Boat Race, ‘Stronger’ is an anthem about endurance in the face of hardship. I was a Cambridge oarsman. Rowing taught me all about pushing my pain threshold and learning to live at my limits every day, which has equipped me for times of stress. I wrote this song to inspire a friend who was very low. It was also the first co-write with James who gave me some chords to write a top-line. The song has been featured on Comic Relief, adopted by various charity compilations and won an award in the International Songwriting Competition.
The video for Stronger, created by Canadian animator Theodore Ushev, was based on his award-winning animation ‘Walk On By’ and was a collaboration fulfilled purely over the internet. The video follows Everyman’s journey through life’s ups and downs. It gives perspective. Theodore followed this up with an extraordinary animation for another song ‘White Dove’. Watch via the video page.
Lyrics for STRONGER (Words D. Vye)
Miles and miles ahead to go
Rain may pour and wind may blow
Higher mountains you will climb
Go on
Taking one step at a time
Come on
Though your weary body ache
And though you ask what it will take
And though your head keeps saying no
The more you tread the more you grow
The more you know
Oh
Breathe it out and breathe it in
And don’t give in
Don’t give in
Yeah
Miles and miles you will have been
Mountain views you will have seen
And though it felt like a bitter pain
Come on
All you had you had to gain
Strong, getting stronger
Pain, pain no longer
And so, still you grow
Breathe it out and breathe it in
Breathe it out and breathe it in
And don’t give in
Don’t give in
Stronger
Stronger
Give it all, give everything
Give it out and don’t give in
Breathe it out and breathe it in
Breathe it out and breathe it in
Breathe it out and breathe it in
Breathe it out and breathe it in
Before you know it, you could win
Song focus - WINGS is rather appropriate for Easter, says Dobs:
Our album begins at the end – the need for ending. Or a new beginning. Maybe ‘Wings’ could have been placed at the end of the album, but the sequencing flows only up from its lowest, broken point.
Being close to that point was a period of epiphany for me which made me stronger. Hope springs.
But seeing loved ones lose hope through infirmity or old-aged loneliness is hard to square with a hopeful outlook. ‘Wings’ is that call for the need to finish, or somehow to re-begin.
I met co-composer David Lowe at TV music events as he had composed the BBC News music and I had composed the Sky News music. I told him I was looking for musical sketches to inspire seeds for Public Symphony songs and he played me a bunch of music cues. These string chords began life in a poetry TV series, and I loved the feel, so I took his samples and Logic arrangement away with me to re-work.
The angelic soprano guest, Natasha Marsh, became my wife.
WINGS (Words D.Vye)
I am spent I am down
I am lost and if I’m found
Heal me heal me
My heart sings for no things
Give me light
Give me wings
I am worn I am torn
Give me end give me dawn
Take me take me
My heart sings for such things
Give me light
Give me wings
Give me wings

Harley William Vye became Public Symphony's youngest fan on 17.12.08 weighing 8lb 4oz. But Harley was already familiar with dad's album prior to making his appearance, with Fill Your Sails being his fave track. Mum had a swift labour with Stronger on her labour CD: 'Breathe it out and breathe it in and don't give in....'
